  • 1981: Graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Studies within Moscow State University
  • 1986-1999: Worked at the Institute of Oriental Studies within the Russian Academy of Sciences
  • 2000-2003: Teacher at the University of Arizona
  • 2004 - to date: Professor at Russian State Humanitarian University’s Centre for the Study of Religion
