The Pioneer Executive MBA Program for a Western Double Degree in Russia
IBS-Moscow runs an Executive MBA Program in partnership with University of Antwerp Management School (UAMS, Belgium). This is the first and still one of very few Executive MBA programmes in Russia that leads to the diploma and Executive MBA degree of prestigious European business school, which has the accreditation of the International Association to Advanced Collegiate Schools of business(AACSB).
The program was launched in 1998. It was developed for the Russian executives employed by international companies' branches in the CIS or working for Russian companies doing business in Europe. It provides the participants with a unique opportunity to get a worldwide recognized Executive MBA education and the Degree of a respected Belgian University, without any disruption to the running of their businesses in Moscow.
It is a part-time program lasting for a year and a half.
The two teaching languages are English and Russian, since lectures are delivered by both visiting professors of UAMS and Russian professors accredited for teaching by our Belgian partners.
It is the Belgian partners' responsibility to monitor the students' progress and carry out the final assessment of their competence (initial selection of applicants for the Program is also the prerogative of the Belgians). Most tests and exams are therefore administered in English, in writing. They are then forwarded to Antwerp for evaluation. The Program is concluded by a Master Project, the result of the participants' team effort, presented in English to a jury of UAMS professors.

An important part of the Executive MBA is two intensive one-week residential programs at UAMS which allows the participants to soak up the atmosphere of European business in the very heart of Europe.
The successful graduates receive the Executive MBA Degree of UAMS. The names and the resumes of the graduates are kept on the database of the University of Antwerp, as well as on the database of the European Business Club in Moscow.
Since 1998 twenty two groups of participants (over 450 people) have graduated from the Program and four more groups are taking part currently. We enroll students twice a year: in October and in March, with the intake not exceeding 25 students, in order to keep high quality standards and provide an interactive education.
The Executive MBA program with its about 100 students is just a small part of the IBS-Moscow Graduate Programs Department, but a very important part, indeed. Since an MBA program is totally new ground for Russians, we maintain that participation of Western partners in an MBA program ensures high quality standards, provides innovative approaches to business and presents examples of modern management practice and contemporary methods of business education not only for the participants of the Russian EMBA, but also for Russian IBS-Moscow professors.
